Francisco Fernandez is an entrepreneur who has committed himself to IT solutions in the finance sector. He holds a master’s degree in informatics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich as well as a certificate in business administration from the Centre for Industrial Management (BWI) of the ETH. Fernandez is the principal shareholder of the Avaloq group. Francisco Fernandez’ goal is to contribute to the financial system’s stability by making financial institutions more secure, more efficient and more transparent. Beyond that he aims at redesigning the dialogue and interaction between financial institutions and their customers. Apart from his rational and analytical side, Fernandez has a musical side as well. He loves spending time with his family and playing the piano to relax after a busy day .
Jürg Hunziker Group Chief Markets Officer (Group CMO) and Deputy Group CEO
Jürg Hunziker is a proven financial technology expert and experienced international leader. He has over 30 years of experience and brings with him a wealth of knowledge of the financial software, technology and banking industries. Hunziker joined Avaloq’s Group Executive Board from SunGard in 2016. Among other major achievements, he founded SunGard Europe and played an essential role in launching and bringing to market several award-winning capital market solutions. Most recently, he acted as SunGard’s group president for the global trading, risk and private banking software and services business. Jürg Hunziker holds a degree in economics and banking from the Zurich Business School and attended senior management education programs at both the University of Zurich and Stanford University. He started his career in the banking industry at UBS in capital markets trading.
Dr. Thomas Beck Group Chief Technology Officer (Group CTO)
Thomas Beck was Avaloq’s Head of Innovation Development for three years before he joined the Executive Board as General Manager Software Development in January 2015. He has more than 20 years of IT experience within the financial industry. Prior to joining Avaloq, he held various senior management positions at UniCredit Bank AG. Alongside his professional experience, Thomas Beck also has a strong academic track record. He gained his degree in mathematics and computer science at the Technical University of Munich, where he also obtained his doctorate. He has also held lectures on economic and financial mathematics at several universities.
Dean Gluyas Group Chief Financial Officer (Group CFO)
Dean joined Avaloq from SunGard, where he was the CFO of their Financial Systems business since 2011. As Group CFO Dean is responsible for oversight of all aspects of financial operations, including controllership, financial planning & analysis, tax, treasury and legal & compliance. He is a member of the Group Executive Board. Dean’s passion is to enable success as a team and to stimulate a motivating and rewarding experience. He has strong international experience that spans from his early career in South Africa, Singapore, the UK and Switzerland. He started his career with PriceWaterhouseCoopers followed by a move into industry with ARCO (BP plc) and subsequently into financial technology with SunGard in 2000 where he held a series of increasingly senior financial management roles. Dean is a Chartered Accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree and a postgraduate diploma in Commerce and Accounting from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
Dr. Pascal Föhn Group Chief Operations Officer (Group COO)
Pascal Föhn was appointed Group COO in July 2015 and has been a member of the Group Executive Board since. Prior to this, he was responsible for the Group Strategy, Marketing & Corporate Communication division for 5 years. In this function, Föhn contributed substantially to the strengthening of the Avaloq brand and fostered the internationalisation of marketing, communication and sales. Pascal Föhn has a deep and profound knowledge of the financial industry. Before joining Avaloq, he worked for the largest wealth manager for ten years occupying different positions in the banking area both in Zurich and Hong Kong. He has a doctorate from the University of Zurich and held lectures in marketing at several universities.
Markus Gröninger Group Chief Global Processing Network (Group Chief GPN)
Markus Gröninger joined Avaloq Sourcing (Switzerland & Liechtenstein) Ltd, formerly known as B-Source, in 2010 as CEO. Previously, he was the Vice President and Country Leader of Oracle Switzerland. From 2002 to 2007, he was the CEO and Managing Director of CSC Switzerland. Starting from 2006, he was CSC’s Head of Market and Business Development for Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Eastern Europe. Markus holds a degree in electrical engineering from the ETH Zurich and a diploma in business administration. In addition, he has completed an executive programme at INSEAD.
Ronald Strässler is the founder and architect of the Avaloq Banking Suite. He has been a member of the Executive Board since 2003, initially in the function of Chief Special Tasks, then as Head of Tools and Group COO. Since 2015, he has the role of Group Chief Global Processing Network. Strässler began his professional career as a software engineer in 1991 after graduating with a degree in informatics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich.
Peter Schöpfer has been a member of the Executive Board of Avaloq since 2006. He initially joined the company as Chief Marketing Officer and has over 20 years of experience in operational management. During his five year spell as Chief Marketing Officer, he contributed substantially to the company’s successful diversification into the retail and universal banking markets. In July 2015, he was appointed Chief Markets Officer leading all market divisions in the Group Executive Board. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Avaloq group. Schöpfer has a track record in managing large teams and excels with his in-depth expertise and experience in international management and expansion. Beginning his professional career at Swisscom in 1986, Peter Schöpfer holds an International MBA from the University of Fribourg in Switzerland.

Uwe Krakau General Manager Sales Germany General Manager Global Key Account Deutsche Bank
Uwe Krakau joined Avaloq in 2004. As the General Manager Sales in Germany and General Manager for the Global Key Account Deutsche Bank (DB), he is a member of the Executive Board and responsible for the German market and for DB on a global level. He has extensive experience in the financial services industry and headed Avaloq’s market business as a Country Manager in Switzerland and Liechtenstein until 2011. In 2012, Uwe joined Avaloq Sourcing Switzerland and Liechtenstein (ASSL), as General Manager Markets and Clients. He was in charge of Sales, KAM, Marketing and Consulting and successfully grew the business in the Swiss and Liechtenstein market up to the point where ASSL was the leading banking BPO provider in Switzerland. He has worked for 14 years in Germany for DAX companies. Amongst others, he held management positions at debis (Daimler), EADS and BASF. He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering of the University of Applied Science in Esslingen and a degree in Computer Science from the University of Konstanz. And he completed the Executive Program of the Swiss Finance Institute.

Tobias Marbler joined Avaloq as a member of the Executive Board in 2016. Previously, he had been with Deutsche Bank (Schweiz) AG for 10 years, most recently as the Global COO for the Asset & Wealth Management Digital Business. Earlier in his career, he spent several years at McKinsey & Company and Arthur Andersen Business Consulting. Tobias holds an MBA from the University of St. Gallen in collaboration with the University of California at Berkeley and the Centre Universitaire de Luxembourg. He also has a Master of Business Engineering from the University of Applied Science in Offenburg, Germany.
Michel Mathys Global Head of Sales
Michel Mathys has been in the IT for bank business for 30 years and has an extensive understanding of the private banking and wealth management business. He is experienced in several core banking systems, front applications and outsourcing models, and has designed several front-to-back architectures with tier 1 and tier 2 banks. He joined Avaloq in 2011, initially as Global Account & Strategic Marketing Manager and has been the Global Head of Sales since 2016.
Michael Rogenmoser General Manager Switzerland/Liechtenstein
Michael Rogenmoser joined Avaloq in August 2014. As the General Manager Switzerland/Liechtenstein, he is a member of the Executive Board and responsible for Sales, Key Account Management and Consulting/Delivery in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. He has wide experience in the international financial services industry. Before joining Avaloq, he had worked as a management consultant and investment banker for 12 years advising financial institutions on strategic matters as well as mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Amongst others, he held positions at McKinsey & Company, UBS Investment Bank and Millenium Associates. He holds an MBA from the University of Berne, where he majored in corporate finance and information management. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder and a member of the Swiss CFA Society.
Tecla Solari General Manager Europe
Tecla Solari joined Avaloq as Head of Sales and Distribution in 2002 and has played a decisive role in building up the company’s leading position in Switzerland and abroad. In 2011, she was appointed Country Manager for France, before she became Managing Director France, Southern Europe and Morocco. In 2014, she was appointed General Manager Western & Southern Europe and member of the Executive Board. Since 2016, she has been responsible for all markets in Europe. She has a strong track record in developing new markets and enjoys an excellent reputation in managing complex customer projects on an international level. She holds a university degree in business & economics (HEC) and a master’s degree in international management from the University of Lausanne as well as an MBA certificate from Babson Graduate School of Business in Boston, USA. She started her career in the banking industry as a trader and financial analyst. In 1996, she joined Reuters, where she held several management positions in implementation consulting and business development for financial software.

Peter Scott joined the Executive Board of Avaloq in April 2013 and is responsible for the Asia Pacific region. He is a distinguished expert with profound global experience and extensive expertise in the financial services industry. Among other past achievements, Scott has lead the development of a new core banking solution, has overseen a solution provider’s entire banking sector on a global basis and has successfully developed and driven several worldwide market strategies. One of Scott’s core strengths is his talent to seamlessly combine technological and banking expertise, enabling the creation of new business solutions and the expansion into new markets.

Chris Zwicker joined Avaloq as a software engineer in 2005. Since then, he has led different units within the company, including Avaloq's development centre in Edinburgh. Chris is an innovative manager and entrepreneurial leader with strong technical skills and profound experience in banking software and computer science in general. Chris holds a master's degree in computer science from the ETH Zurich as well as a Global Executive MBA from INSEAD.

Anantha Ayer CEO Avaloq Sourcing Asia Pacific
Anantha Ayer joined Avaloq after 2 decades of distinguished leadership roles in technology and operations within the asset & wealth management industry. His previous role was interim Head of Wealth Management Operations (Global) at Deutsche Bank AG. Prior to that, he had led teams from technology and operations, and large change initiatives across various financial centres. Anantha holds a master's degree from the Indian Statistical Institute in Calcutta as well as an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management.
Bruno Kellenberger Head of GPN Solution and Offering
Bruno joined Avaloq Sourcing (Switzerland & Liechtenstein) Ltd, formerly known as B-Source, in 2006. He has held several management positions since then, most recently as Head of Consulting & Sales. Previous assignments included a function as a consulting manager at IMG AG and several management positions in IT & Organisation at SGKB Group. He started his career at Raiffeisen Group and held various positions there. Bruno Kellenberger holds a degree in economics and business administration from the St.Gallen University of Applied Sciences.
Rainer Link CEO Avaloq Sourcing Europe (EU)
Rainer Link started his career as a software engineer for different IT consulting companies. At CSC Germany, he held various senior management functions, most recently as Head of Global Transformation Solutions. He joined Avaloq Sourcing (Switzerland & Liechtenstein) Ltd, in 2007 as Head of Systems Integration & Application Management (Deputy CEO) and later he became Head of Transformation and Integration Projects (Deputy CEO). Since 2016, he has been the CEO of Avaloq Sourcing EU. He completed his commercial and IT education with a degree in economics.
Simon Spalinger Head Application Management Services
Simon Spalinger, based in Singapore, is the Head Application Managements Services (AMS) in Avaloq’s Global Processing Network. He has been a member of the Avaloq Community for a long time. His functions included positions as software engineer and team leader at Avaloq, member of the executive board at Sofgen Consulting, and founder of Solution Architects Group. He started his career as a software engineer at Netcetera. Simon holds a degree in computer science from ETH Zurich.

Benny Staeheli was appointed Head of Run Banking Operations in 2016 and has been a member of the GPN Board since. Prior to this, he had been responsible for the Banking Operations division of Avaloq Sourcing (Switzerland & Liechtenstein) Ltd, for eight years. In this function, he contributed substantially to making the division profitable and re-aligning the operating model and service delivery to the clients' changing needs. He has significant experience in the financial industry. Before joining Avaloq, he had been working for Credit Suisse for 10 years occupying different management positions, mainly in operations. He holds a doctorate from the University of St.Gallen in cross-cultural management. Furthermore, he held lectures in banking operations in the Centro di Studi Bancari (CSB) in Vezia. He is a member of the board of trustees of CSB Vezia and serves on the National User Committee of SWIFT Switzerland.
Tobias Unger CEO Avaloq Sourcing (Switzerland & Liechtenstein)
Tobias Unger is the CEO of Avaloq’s BPO centre for Switzerland and Liechtenstein. He joined from Falcon Private Bank, where he served as the COO and Deputy CEO since 2010. In this function, among other responsibilities, he oversaw Falcon Private Bank’s outsourcing of its core banking IT and back office to Avaloq since the beginning of the cooperation in 2011. Before joining Falcon Private Bank he worked as an Investment Banker both at UBS and Merrill Lynch in Zurich and in London. He holds a Master Degree in Law from the University of Berne.
Dominique Emery Head of Front
Dominique joined Avaloq in 2006 as business analyst in the accounting area where he was responsible for developing product extensions and supporting implementation projects in Switzerland and Asia. In 2008 and 2009, he coached implementation projects of the Avaloq Banking Suite in Luxemburg. In 2010, he took over product management responsibilities in the area of bank management, where he successfully designed, developed and launched a new fund administration solution based on the Avaloq Banking Suite. Since 2013, he has been in charge of Avaloq Front and the digital innovation strategy.
Marc Koning Head of Operations and Execution
Marc Koning studied mathematics at the Technical University of Delft, Netherlands. Before joining Avaloq, he worked as a software engineer for Allshare . He joined Avaloq as a software engineer in 1992 and worked on several customer implementations. Later on, he led the Settlement and Payment teams, before becoming the Domain Head of Operations and Execution.
Dr. Oliver Kuster Head of Core Banking
Oliver Kuster joined Avaloq as a business analyst in the area of accounting in 2007. Before being appointed Head of Core Banking in 2013, he led the Accounting, Cost & Fees and VAT team. In addition to software development skills, Oliver has gained international experience in project implementations. Oliver Kuster holds a doctorate in finance & accounting from the University of Zurich, where he was a research assistant at the Institute of Accounting and Controlling prior to joining Avaloq. He lectures financial accounting at the Swiss Accounting Academy.
Didier Matthey Head of Internationalisation
Didier Matthey joined Avaloq as a software engineer in 2004. He has held various technical and management positions in the area of portfolio management, taxes, advisory and front. Since 2016 he has been responsible for the further development of the international Avaloq Banking Standards. Didier Matthey holds a master's degree in computer science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich as well as a master's degree in engineering from École Centrale Paris (ECP).

So Park, Avaloq's Head of Design, is a Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) graduate with over 20 years of experience in software design and strategy leadership to at Fortune 500 companies, including Samsung, Sony, NTT DoCoMo, SK Telecom, Sodexo, McGraw Hill, Procter&Gamble, Accenture and at financial services companies such as Fidelity, Bain Capital and Wellington Management .
Stefan Alder Group Chief Information Officer (CIO)
Stefan Alder joined Avaloq in 2015. He started his career at Sunrise as a Senior Network Engineer. At UBS, among other tasks, he was responsible for a software engineering and IT product and process unit, where he introduced modern software development methodologies. Later, he worked for Credit Suisse in the area of IT infrastructure architecture and strategy. He was responsible for global IT operations and service management architecture and strategy. Stefan Alder holds a master's degree from the ETH Zurich and an Executive MBA in general management from the University of St. Gallen (HSG).
Dr. Enrico Ardielli Chief Acquisition Officer (CAO)
Enrico Ardielli joined Avaloq in 2002 as Chief Financial Officer. In 2014, he was appointed Chief Acquisition Officer. Previous assignments included roles as Head of Corporate Controlling & Accounting at SwissLife, Division Controller at Zellweger Luwa Group and Auditor at Revisuisse Price Waterhouse. Enrico Ardielli holds a Dr. oec. publ. degree as well as a degree in business and economics from the University of Zurich.

Patrik Fähndrich joined Avaloq in 2014. Since March 2016, he has been Head of Group Controlling. Prior to his career at Avaloq, he was Head of MIS & Controlling at Coutts International. In an earlier assignment, he worked for Credit Suisse in the area of Controlling & MIS in Wealth Management and Asset Management. Patrik Fähndrich holds an executive master's degree in corporate finance from the IFZ and he is a Swiss certified expert for accounting and controlling.
Christina Hübschen Head of Global Human Resources (HR)
Christina Hübschen joined Avaloq in 2014. Prior to that, she worked as Global Senior HR lead with Accenture, holding several international leadership positions across Europe, Africa, North America, Latin America and India. In an earlier assignment, she worked for DZ BANK. Christina holds a degree in law from the Saarland University, Germany, and an MBA degree from the Henley Management College, UK.
Urs Lehmann General Counsel
Urs Lehmann joined Avaloq as General Counsel in August 2016. He has twenty years of experience as a lawyer, in particular in the financial services industry. Previously, he was the Head Group Mergers & Acquisitions Legal at UBS. Earlier in his career, Urs Lehmann spent several years with Sullivan & Cromwell and with Bär & Karrer. A graduate of the University of Zurich, he holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Chicago, as well as an LL.M. from the College of Europe in Bruges. He is admitted to practice as an attorney at law in New York and in Zurich.
